BJ Muhrin and Jim Thompson Win With 9.19 lbs

This Tuesday night ended with a bang , meaning a large thunderstorm blew up around 8:30. Most the teams came in early not wanting to get caught in the brewing storm. The team of BJ Muhrin and Jim Thompson came in with a 3 fish limit that weighed 9.19 pounds. They also took big bass with a 4.07 kicker. The team took home  $40.00 for big bass and $90.00 for total weight.      

Chester Cox And Ben Matsubu Get 2nd

Taking second was Chester Cox and Ben Matsubu with a 3 fish limit that weighed 9.06 pounds. They took home $35.00   

Austin Fitzz Fished With His Dad

Austin and Allen Fitzz came to the scales with a 3 fish limit that weighed 7.58 pounds. Austin said they got caught in the rain but he still caught fish and had fun.      

Ben Matsubu and Andrew Upshaw Win Tuesday Night

This week June 22nd we had ten teams come out to fish in the event, the fishing must have gotten a little tuff, because only 3 teams brought fish back to the scales at 9:00. The winning team of Ben Matsubu and Andrew Upshaw came in with a three fish limit that weighed 11.0 pounds even. Their kicker fish went 4.61 pounds which also won the team big bass honors. Ben and Andrew took home $100.00 for first place and $50.00 for the Big Bass. The team said they used a fat free shad crank bait in 18 foot of water off a ridge to catch their fish.

The team of Muhrin and Thompson got second place by bringing in a 3 fish limit that weighed 7.65 pounds. The team said they used crank baits and worms in 10 to 11 foot of water to cath their fish. The team got $40.00  

Stan Verrett and Jim McDonald Take 3rd

Stan Verret and Jim McDonald get third tonight by bringing in a 3 fish limit that weighed 6.12 pounds. Jim Thompsom And Dave Fisco Get 1st With 9.62 lbs.

The June 15th Tuesday night tournament had 9 total boats show up and we paid 3 places. The winning team of Jim Thompson and Dave Fisco came to the scales with a three fish limit that weighed 9.62 pounds, the teams kicker won big fish of the event which was 4.56 pounds. Jim and Dave took home $95.00 for 1st and $45.00 for the big bass side pot. The team said they used green pumpkin jigs and carolina rigged watermelon red brush hogs in 18 to 20 foot of water to get their limit.     

Eton Thomae and Clint May Get 2nd

The team of Elton Thomae and Clint May grabbed their 3 fish limit by throwing a yellow majic and frogs in shallow water. The teams limit weighed 6.93 pounds and they took home $35.00.     

They Just Almost left Without The Money

The husband and wife team of Clint and Susan Conn came to the scales with a 3 fish limit that weighed 6.74 pounds which was just good enough to take 3rd place and the $20.00 that went with it. The team used DD 22's in texas shad and Ole Monster June bug worms in 20' of water.

Jim Furr And Alan Fitzz Win June's 1st Tuesday Night

The team of Jim Furr and Alan Fitzz came back to the scales tonight with a three fish limit that weighed 7.72 pounds. The team said they used Ole Monster plum apple worms and football jigs in 15 to 18 foot of water to catch their limit. The team took home $100.00 for their first place finish.     

Jim Thompson And B.J. Murkin Take 2nd

The second place team of Jim Thompson and B.J. Murkin said they went out and fished in 15 to 18 foot of water throwing an Ole Monster tequila sunrise worm. The team took home $40.00 for their second place finish.

Taking 3rd place tonight was Ben Matsubu and Mark Simmons (sorry about the photo) the team said they fished in 12 foot of water using jig's and hot lips crank bait's. the team got $20.00 for their 3rd place finish.   

The Last To Show Up And First To Weigh In

The team of Terrance Corley and Shane McGown arrived just after take off and came back to the scales first. The team was able to catch the biggest bass of the event which weighed 4.55 pounds. The team took home $50.00 for their catch.     

Clint Conn and Whit Michalec Claim First With 12.13 Pounds

The team of Clint Conn and Whit Michalec went out tonight with one thing on their mind's and that was to win. Well they did just that by catching thier 3 fish limit and bringing in a nice kicker that weighed 7.79 pounds. The teams total weight sat the scales at 12.13 pounds. The team took home $95.00 for first place and $45.00 for the Big Bass of the event. Clint said they were using a Texas Rigged 11 inch worm in june bug and a DD 22 crank bait over 15 foot of water to get their limit. Congratulations guy's

The team of Jim Furr and Ben Matsubu came to the scales with their 3 fish limit that tipped the scales at 9.42 pounds. They said they caught their fish on Talon jig's and OL' Monstor worms fishing in 22' of water. The team took 2nd place and $35.00 for their night of fun.      

3rd Place Terrance Corly and Shane McGown

The team of Terrance Corley and Shane McGown came to the scales with a 3 fish limit that looked like they came out of a cookie cutter, the fish were all the same size and looked like they were on a good diet. The team said they fished Baby Bass super flukes in the grass and was able to cull three times. The team took home $20.00 for the 3rd place finish.      

Ashley Westbrook And Andrew Upshaw Claim First

The fifth tuesday night tournament drew 5 teams with the winners Ashley Westbrook and Andrew Upshaw bringing in a 3 fish limit that weighed 8.26 pounds. The team took home $80.00 for their efforts.    

Big Bass Winners James Thompson And BJ Murchin

The team of James Thompson and BJ Murchin brought in the big bass of the evening which weighed 3.56 pounds. The team took home $25.00 for the fish. I want to say thanks to everyone who came out tonight and I hope to see most of you next week.     

Tough Tuesday Night

We had 6 two man teams and 1 lone angler fish this event, The wind kept the anglers from going out to far in the big water so they had to adjust, Only two teams had fish tonight, the team of Gary Conn and Miles McDaniel came to the scales with 2 fish that weighed a total of 3.22 pounds, their big fish weighed 1.68 pounds, the team took home $85.00 for first place.      

BIG BASS And Second Place

The team of Clint and Wesley Conn brought the big bass back to the scales this evening and as you can tell Clint was happy about it. Their fish weighed 1.71 pounds. The team took home $25.00 for 2nd place and $35.00 for big fish. It just goes to show, you never know who is going to catch what, or what place you will win.         

11.54 pounds Wins First Place

On Tuesday May 4th, we had 10 boats show up for a great evening of fishing, the anglers were sent out at 6:00 pm and told to be back at the weigh in site at 9:00 pm. The team of Ben Matsubu and Bill Barbra brout back a 3 fish limit that weighed 11.54 pounds ancored by a nice 4.80 kicker. The team said they caught their fish in 12 to 20 foot of water using a Talon Football jig in green pumpkin and a DD22. The team took home $130.00 for their evening of fun.          

He Rode Alone But Brought Back The Big Bass

Andrew Upshaw came to the event alone and fished by himself, but I don't think it mattred to much because when he came back to the scales he was dragging a heavy sack of fish. Andrew said he had a good one but, Ben told him he had a good one also, well Andrew pulled his big fish out and Ben knew he had been beat, the fish was laid on the scales and it showed to weigh 6.15 pounds. andrew also had his other two fish which landed him in 2nd place with a total weight of 10.19 pounds. Andrew said he also caught his fish using a Talon Football jig in watermelon. Andrew too home $50.00 for his 2nd place finish and $50.00 for his Big Bass.         

They Are Consistant

The team of Terrance Corely and Billy Toney ( MOOSE) came back in with a consistant sack of fish for the team that weighed 8.36 pounds. the team took home $20.00 for their 3rd place finish.  Please come join us next Tuesday at Harborlight marina it's cheap and fun. 8.88 Pounds Wins 2nd Tuesday Night

 I would like to thank everyone for coming out tonight, we had 8 teams and 1 single fish in this event and we paid back 100%. We paid the winning team $130.00 2nd place took home $50.00 and big bass took home $45.00 dollars.  The team of Terance Corley and Billy Toney said they arrived on their spot and before Billy had a chance to get things going Terance started catching fish. The team brought in the winning 3 fish limit which weighed 8.88 pounds and there kicker weighed 4.47 pounds. The team said they caught their fish on a spinner bait in about 6 foot of water. The team took home $130 dollars for their efforts. Congratulations guy's     

Big Bass And 2nd Place

The big girls are still eating and here is proof, the team of Alan Fitts and Jim Furr came back to the scales with a three fish limit but one of there fish had expired so it did not count, however the other two fish were just heavy enough to take 2nd place and big fish honors. The teams total weight was 6.86 pounds and their kicker weighed 5.10 pounds. The team took home fifty dollars for their total bag and fourty five dollars for the big fish. The team said they caught the big fish on a fluke. The First Tuesday Night Working Mans Tournament Is In The Books

I want to start off by thanking Texas Harborlight Resort for coming on board and hosting these Tuesday night event's. If you are coming to Toledo Bend and need a great hotel room, cabin, or campground space, then please get in touch with these fine folks by clicking the link.
 http://www.harborlightmarina.com/ and come stay awhile. We had four 2 man teams and myself fish in this event this evening and the weather was perfect. We paid back 100% of the entry fees tonight so it made these two Stan Verret and Jim McDonald pretty happy when they took home $100.00 for the main pot and another $25.00 for their big bass side pot. The team brought in their full three fish limit that weighed 7.46 pounds ancored by their big fish that weighed 3.26 pounds. The team said they caught their winning stringer on a white Mr. Blitz spinner bait with a 4 inch chartreuse grup trailer. The team also reported they culled two times and even messed up by throwing back the wrong fish, but they were able to finally get the fish they needed after dark. Congratulations on the win guy's  
I also want to thank Renee Strickland who is with Toledo Bend Outdoors www.toledobendoutdoors.com  for coming to the tournament and doing a story on the event, I wish her luck on her new adventure. Renee stated she was going to be doing stories on tournaments and hunting in the Toledo Bend area and bring awareness to this great lake and the surrounding area's.         I hope to see everyone next week.
